Who we are – and why we live at sea today
A journey that changed everything
Sometimes a new life begins with a single journey.
For us, Jeanett & Markus, it was our first big sailing trip in 2004. It took us to the Caribbean, on the largest sailing ship in the world, the Royal Clipper. We immediately fell in love with the vastness of the sea, the wind in the sails, and that feeling of infinite freedom.
At the time, we had no idea how much this trip would change our lives.
From dream to decision
Markus obtained his first boat license at the age of 17. This was followed by his recreational boat license for lakes and his SRC radio license.
While we went about our daily lives in our respective professions—Markus as a manager and supervisor in elderly care, Jeanett as a nurse—the dream of the sea remained with us.
We lived in the Lower Rhine region for 25 years with our two daughters, Marie and Luna. It was a wonderful life, but we felt that something was missing.

Ready for your time at sea?
The courageous step into the unknown
Five years ago, we decided to make our dream come true.
We began planning, learning, gaining sailing experience, and took our own catamaran trip. With each step, it became clearer:
This is our way.
In 2024, the time had come. We found Eragon, and Eragon found us.
We knew immediately:
This is our new home
The decisions were not always easy.
We sold our house, quit our jobs, and focused on the essentials. We took the step that many wish for but few dare to take:
We followed our hearts.
A new life at sea
In January 2025, we moved to Murter in Croatia.
This is where not only our new life on the water began, but also a project close to our hearts:
We want to enable people, even those without sailing experience, to experience the magic of the Adriatic Sea the way we love it.
Because the sea brings peace.
It brings clarity.
And a feeling of boundless freedom.
